Early 20^th century floor model gyroscope demonstration model.

A rare and unusual early 20^th century floor model gyroscope with counterweight and early bicycle wheel to exhibit centrifugal force. Large three legged cast irin base with chrome plated metal shaft and brass rotating arm with 360 degree swivel joint. Bicycle wheel and sliding counterweight are attached to the brass arm. Brass and mixed metal components.

Height to top of swivel joint with arm is 20”. Overall adjustable height to 31”. Length of brass arm is 36” to hub of bicycle wheel, 39” overall with attached wheel. Diameter of bicycle wheel: 13 ½”

Some flaking of chrome from shaft, otherwise excellent condition with all joinery in excellent working order.
