Large scale articulated sold brass gyroscope and solid brass base. Engraved Newton & Company, 3 Fleet Street, London – circa 1850-1860 period.
Very good condition, age wear on base and some wear on Y shaped ½ ring.
Dimensions: 4 ½” diameter flywheel on steel axis, brass ring with screw-thread positioning, and articulating post on circular 7” diameter base. Articulated height up to 15”. Y shaped 7 ½” outer diameter. Ring 6” diameter. Gyroplate 4 ½” diameter.
